Here are my sacrifices, goals, and plans for Lent this year. (Thanks joyfullycatholic for the idea!)
- Abstaining from Facebook for the duration of Lent/limit the amount of time I spend online.
- Abstaining from both fast food and convenience foods/possibly going vegetarian.
- Focus on schoolwork and other duties.
- Continue to pray the Rosary every day and begin to pray the Litany of Humility, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and other prayers, litanies, and devotions at least three times a week.
- Read the Catechism, Scripture, and/or writings by the saints every day for half an hour or more.
- Work on breaking several personal bad habits.
- Call, write, and visit people instead of using social media.
- Volunteer/find other ways to get involved in the community, connect with other Catholics, and evangelize.
- Pray more and try my best to love and forgive others.
- Most importantly, spend time growing closer to God, the Blessed Sacrament, the Church, Our Lady and her most holy Rosary, and the saints, particularly St. Anthony.

"It is theologically and anthropologically important for women to be at the center of Christianity. Through Mary, and the other holy women, the feminine element stands at the heart of the Christian religion."
—Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
I just need to gush about how amazing the holy women of the Church are. From Our Blessed Mother to the countless female saints who lived out their Catholic faith with immense love for Our Lord and His Church, regardless of the challenges and dangers they encountered. They all faced countless struggles, they all sinned (except Our Lady, of course), but in spite of their sins, faults, fears, and vices, they kept striving for holiness and unity with God. They kept standing up even when sin, evil, and the everyday pitfalls of life knocked them down. They made endless theological, spiritual and even scientific contributions to the Church and society that have shaped the world and influenced the lives of the faithful and secular alike. And yet they gave all the glory and praise to God and wished for our attention and love to be given to Him and Him alone!
What amazing examples we have in these women! What sources of inspiration and consolation they are for us as we struggle and strive to be worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven! May we always try to follow their example and ask for their prayers and intercession so that we may, like them, draw closer to Our Lord and adore and glorify Him now and for all eternity.

I just found out that Nell, 2NE1, and CNBLUE are all putting out new albums very soon and that CNBLUE and FTISLAND both released albums last year that I didn’t hear about until recently. I’m so behind!!! ㅠㅠ
In other random entertainment news, I finally started watching Heirs and I’m going to watch Lee Hong Ki’s new drama, Bride of the Century, as it airs. I’m also trying to finish the several other shows I started last year but was either to busy or depressed to watch. I’m currently on episode 8 of The World They Live In; episode 13 of Pretty Man; episode 12 of Sungkyungkwan Scandal; and episode 2 of What’s Up?

Hi, everyone! I have gotten quite a few lovely comments from people concerning this post and rather than reblogging or messaging people, I figured one big text post would be the most effective way to respond.
I have an etsy! I really like the site, honestly. Easy to use and only takes 3% plus really small fees (like 20 cents per listing) With that being said, if you want to be successful, be willing to hype it!! Post links on Facebook, tumblr, anywhere else people will see it, even go as far as to get business cards if you’re really serious. I’ve NOT been successful on etsy because I let people just ask me in person. I do 2-3 commissions a week for people i know, so I don’t really have time to post a ton of stuff on etsy anyways. But for sure talk about it. Wear your own items around and then when people compliment, throw them a business card.
Thank you for all of your advice! I really like the business card idea. Since I don’t have a lot of knitwear to sell at the moment and only a few prints and veils to sell, I might try StoreEnvy first since it’s totally free to list items and see how things go from there. I might move to Etsy if I can actually sell anything. Thank you again for your help! :D
I’ve been on Etsy for over a year. My experience has been really great. Super easy to set up and use.
Thank you for your comment, Kristyn! I didn’t know you had an Etsy. I got halfway though setting up a store and had to quite because of address conflicts (moving, ugh), but I plan on looking into Etsy once I see if my prints, veils, etc. will sell locally or on StoreEnvy.
And finally, a comment from this post.
My youngest daughter introduced me to anime! She is probably older than you are, and I know plenty of 30-somethings who are obsessed with anime. So, no, you are not alone.
Thank you! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who enjoys a good anime. :)

I’m thinking of selling some of my art, veils, and knitwear on either Etsy or StoryEnvy. Would anyone happen to have any experience with either site or advice on selling handmade items online?
